EHA TEAM - Handball Development Officer: West London
My Role is to develop handball in West London. I work with the Clubs in the area to increase participation in schools, and with local universities to increase the workforce in the area.
I am a massive sports fan. Liverpool FC, Hampshire CCC and Wasps RFC are my three teams. I have played Football, Cricket and Rugby for as long as I can remember. I also set up and played in a Handball Club for two years whilst at university, where I studied Sports Management and Coaching Studies. Whilst at university and was heavily involved in the sports teams and was chair of the cricket club and the handball club for two Consecutive years. My sporting heroes are Andrew Flintoff, Steven Gerrard and Joe Launchbury.
EHA TEAM - Chief Executive
I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of England Handball, ably supported by my fantastic team of staff.
I work closely with the England Handball Board to develop the strategic and operational plans for the organization, always seeking to ensure that we listen to the needs of our key stakeholders and partners.
I am a sports nut. I played football to a decent standard as a junior and have recently taken it up again as part of a veterans team! I have a collection of over 260 hardback sports autobiographies at home and if I had to pick one of them as the life story of my sporting hero it would have to be Pele. The words “great” and “legend” are used far too often but he is certainly deserving of both.
EHA TEAM - Competitions and Events Officer and Lead Safeguarding Officer
I assist the Competitions and Events group in the running of the leagues in the country and the organisation of the National Cup finals. I also work closely with the NSPCC to ensure we meet all safeguarding requirements and are best protecting all our members.
Outside of work I am on the European Handball Federations Young Referee Programme and have the opportunity to go and officiate in other countries whilst representing Great Britain.
EHA TEAM - Handball Development Officer: East London
My job role is to develop handball in East London, by:
engaging and, delivering handball to, new education partners
increase the number of borough based junior clubs and create more competition opportunities for them.
I played Handball in Portugal for 12 years, and I also enjoy a lot of different sports like, swimming, tennis, basketball and football.
My sporting hero is Kobe Bryant. Iadmire his passion and commitment for the game and he was just incredible. Althought we played different sports, I always saw him as a role model and an inspiration for me.
EHA TEAM - Handball Development Officer: Bristol and Gloucestershire
In addition to being a development officer for handball, I am also Lead coach for the Boys South West Regional Academy Hobbies/Interests: I am Sports mad and enjoy playing and watching most sports. I enjoy the great outdoors and love going camping and exploring. I am also partial to board games and a pub quiz!
EHA TEAM - National AASE Manager and Lead Coach Educator
I am responsible for the nationwide delivery of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence NVQ which is a section of the England Handball Talent Pathway.
I am also one of our Lead Coach Educators. This essentially means that I am on hand to support any developing Coach Educators in our workforce and also input into the development of our coach education courses such as the UKCC Level 2 qualification.
After graduating with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2007, I made over 50 appearances for the GB National Team which included captaining the team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Role: I am Participation Project Manager at Leap, The Bucks and Milton Keynes County Sports Partnership. I manage Leap’s Running, Rounders and Handball programmes, key commissions from governing body partners.
Sporting background: I love keeping fit and take part in military fitness, netball, running and anything else I can throw myself into.
EHA TEAM - International Transfers and Membership Administrator
I facilitate the International Transfers function. I also administer all aspects of the membership programme and delivery of the services and benefits that support this. I receive and allocate membership subscriptions, tracking club bonds and liaise with members/clubs. I ensure registered members and clubs receive Welcome Packs for the new season. On top of this I authorise players prior to matches and produce data reports and statistics for colleagues
Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I am a life-long fan of Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club, attending all home and most away games. One of my all-time favourite players is Moz – Adrian Morley.
My role is to establish Handball in Kent across Primary, Secondary and Further education. With great help from Kent Sport and Physical Activity we are slowly building 'Hub' clubs with funding for 'Satellites'. This has been particularly successful in Medway and Cantebury
Sports background: I enjoy a range of sports, including amateur boxing (boxer/coach), volleyball, paravolleyball. I was also sports coach UK 2012: 'Children’s Coach of the Year', and runner up in the ‘Coach of the Year’ category.
Sporting Heroes: Fanny Blankers-Koen/ Louis Zamperini
Interests: Military History, Disability Sports Fitness.
Role: I am responsible for the development of handball in the East Midlands Area (Nottinghamshire). He is also currently head coach for the England men’s Under-21 team and is a Lead Coach Educator
Sports background: I am a qualified Physical Education teacher with extensive experience of playing and coaching handball at a high level. Formerly a player with Nucleo de Andebol de Penedono and Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), I have 15 years coaching experience, and am an EHF Master Coach.
I am administrator for the Performance department at England Handball, based at Head Office in Warrington.
Sporting background: My ultimate passion is my family and cars. I am on my third car build and my latest project is a 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 Gtst that I rescued from going to scrap heaven. I am also founder and events organiser of a Japanese car club and administer one of the biggest Japanese shows in the country. I attend Japanese shows all over the UK with my car and club. My boys also share my passion. My ultimate goal is to enter the British Drift Championships as a female driver.
I am the Marketing and Communications Manager at England Handball. My role is to promote the sport and England Handball as an organisation.
Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family, and cycling and running. I also love football, rugby league and cricket (supporting Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire) although in all honesty I will watch pretty much any sport you put in front of me!
My sporting hero is Lucas Radebe, a true inspiration.
I am National Performance Manager at England Handball. My role is to manage and develop the talent pathway. The pathway provides a route, develops the talent and fulfils the potential of young athletes who aspire to become performance handball players.
I am a former basketball player, and am interested in playing and watching a wide variety of sports. Growing up I was a basketball player, so heroes included Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant amongst others. On converting to handball, two players I looked up to were Lars Christiansen and Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson, both of whom, I have been lucky enough to play against!
