HOSTING A COURSE

Due to the delay which has affected Change 4 Life Sports Clubs, the YST have extended the expected start dates. The EHA is looking to complete training nationally between September and November. The EHA requests that schools who wish to express interest in hosting a course go to this link. I want to HOST a course.

The programme of courses with venues will be published and regularly updated on the England Handball Website.

In order to maximise this opportunity, The EHA has designed a training package that will not only give the young people the skills and tools they need to get the game going in your school, without impacting on the precious little time that an already overworked PE staff have to offer but also, simultaneously, your designated adult will complete Tutor Training in Handball Leadership in the same 3 courses. Thus ensuring future sustainability of the game. Your school will in the future be able to offer 3 NGB Awards without the cost of bringing in additional tutors.

Following this training, your handball club will affiliate to the EHA and plug into the local and National network of clubs, courses, and player pathways and will receive online support to help it flourish.    

England Handball Change 4 Life School Sports Clubs Leadership and Coaching Scholarships Training Package

  •  Each school will receive a £500 kit bag which will include
o   Easy to Assemble SAMBA Handball
o   A variety of Handballs Leather and soft feel
o   Bibs, Scoreboard, Whistles
o   DVD with Adapted Games and Rules
o   Wall Chart
 
  • Each school/College to select a maximum of 4 students to undertake training, where possible 2 male/ 2 female.
  • Each School/College to select 1 adult to undertake Junior Handball Tutor Training.
  • Courses to be delivered in 1 academic day approx 10.00-4.00pm
  • Courses to be offered on a geographical basis with a maximum of 5 schools on any one course
  • Schools will be requested to host courses where possible

Certification

As part of the training, each student will receive a logsheet to verify 10 hours voluntary leadership. On completion of this, the designated adult will send the log sheets to the EHA office and Certificates will be sent out. This voluntary period form a part of the qualification and must be completed by 31st June 2011.
