England Handball

EHA  have developed an exciting  partnership agreement with Handball Kreis Verden e.V. which is the Regional Handball Association of Lower Saxonia, and Warrington Wolves Foundation to give young handball coaches the opportunity for work based learning placements in respectective countries.

For the last few years the South Stoke SSP has run a Partnership Games for Y7, 8 and 9. The games give an opportunity for students who do not normally play for a team to represent their school. 30 students (15 boys and 15 girls) are invited to attend from 8 secondary schools and they all take part in 2 activities. A range of activities are offered and usually a short coaching session is run prior to a competition.

The Association of British University Handball Clubs (ABUHC) had been founded after last year’s Championships in order to represent the University Clubs of England and Scotland by people who are themselves involved in those teams. The ABUHC was founded in spring 2011 with most of the University Handball Clubs being founding members. Over the summer, the founding committee established close connections to the EHA and SHA, to which the ABUHC is now affiliated and by whom it is officially charged with the organisation of the University Championships.

To mark the start of Olympic year and the up and coming school competition the EHA are proud to run a competition for schools across the country.  To coincide with the release of our KS3 resources at the end of 2011, the EHA are looking to find the school with the best classroom/sports hall display.  Be creative and photocopy our resources, enlarge them and design your own!

For the eighth time the European Handball Federation (EHF) organises the European Masters Handball Championships for men and women. The Championships will take place in Ljubljana / Slovenia from June 15th-17th, 2012. Please find enclosed some basic information concerning organisation, participation and financial conditions.

In recognition of its Coach Education Infrastructure and Qualifications, The EHA is the first Home Nation to become a full signatory to the Rinck Convention . This is the EHF body which accredits Coach Education across Europe . This effectively means that the EHA Qualifications will be accepteted and accredited in other Rick Convention Nations.

The Under 18 national squad are continuing their preparation for the European Qualifiers, having just completed another training camp in Germany. The camp proved a massive success with the team winning all three matches whilst abroad. The Euro Qualifiers are now only 3 months away, but with the squad constantly raising the bar, things are looking good for the future.
