England Under 18's prepare for the European Championships
The Under 18 national squad are continuing their preparation for the European Qualifiers, having just completed another training camp in Germany. The camp proved a massive success with the team winning all three matches whilst abroad. The Euro Qualifiers are now only 3 months away, but with the squad constantly raising the bar, things are looking good for the future.
"Preparation is well underway and the lads have been showing fantastic progress so far. This was the first time we came here with expectations for on court as well as off so it was a big test for them. We did just that with three convincing wins over the 3 days. Now we can tick that box and raise the bar again as we look to progress to the next level. We cannot afford to let up, especially over the christmas period. We are a young developing squad and the clock is ticking so it is important that the lads go away over christmas, work hard and not let what we have acheived to this point go to waste."
Tom Smith, Manager
Next up for the U18 squad will be another European camp in February, this time to Denmark. It will no doubt be the biggest test so far, with matches scheduled against 3 of the best youth teams in the country.
"I cant wait to test ourselves in Denmark. When creating the preparation plan we decided on a point in our programme where we could really test where we are at in our development, and this without doubt will be it. Having said that, the lads are under no illusion and understand that we will only compete with these teams if we properly prepare over the next month."
Scott Harrington, Head Coach.
