Men's Premier Handball League: Hawks face Wolves in North-west Derby

NEM Hawks face Warrington Wolves in a North-west derby in the Men’s Premier Handball League on Sunday.

Hawks lost a close-fought match against Olympia last time out and sit in fifth spot with one win and two defeats. Wolves top the table, ahead of London GD on goal difference, with three wins from three matches. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre is at 12.30. The match is followed by the Women’s Premier Handball League match between Hawks and London Angels.

Second-place GD travel north to play promoted Liverpool. GD know they could go top if they get a better result than Wolves, or a victory by three goals better than the defending champions. Liverpool go into the match searching for their first win of the season. Throw-off on Sunday at Trafford Soccerdome is at 15.30 and is preceded by the Women’s Premier Handball League match between Peninsula and London GD at 13.30.

Nottingham, like Liverpool, are bidding for their first victory of the campaign. They host third-place Cambridge, who go into the match fresh from a win over Liverpool, in a match where they trailed at half time. Throw-off at Sutton Bonnington on Sunday is at 14.30.

West London Eagles and Olympia meet in a London derby at Sporthouse on Saturday. Olympia have won both their matches this season. Eagles have lost all three of their games so far and will be bidding to secure their first maximum points of the campaign. Olympia, however, will be aiming to keep their 100% record going. Throw-off is at 13.00. After the match the Women’s Premier Handball League clash between West London Eagles and Olympia throws off at 15.00.
