Women's Premier Handball League: Eagles face high-flying Hawks

NEM Hawks host West London Eagles in the Women’s Premier Handball League, while Peninsula travel to Coventry Sharks, and Olympia face London Angels.

Second-place Hawks play Eagles at Oldham on Sunday, looking to close the gap to table-toppers London GD to two points. Hawks have won their last three matches following their opening-day defeat to GD. Eagles sit three points adrift of Hawks in fourth place, behind Cambridge on goal difference. They have played a match less than Hawks, however, and two less than Cambridge, and beat Olympia in their last match. Throw-off is at 12.30 and is followed by the Men’s Premier Handball League match between Hawks and Eagles.

Bottom side Peninsula go into the match against Sharks looking to secure their first win of the season. Sharks, meanwhile, have played just twice this season, losing to GD in a tight match, and beating Cambridge. They sit in seventh spot, behind London Angels on goal difference. However, like Angels they have matches in hand on all the other teams.

Olympia take on Angels bidding to get back to winning ways after losing their last two matches. Angels, lost against Hawks in a close-fought match last-time out and, like Olympia will be looking to claim maximum points. Throw-off at Sporthouse Barking is on Saturday is at 13.00, and is followed by the Men’s Premier Handball match between Olympia and Warrington Wolves at 15.00.
