Women's Super-7: Angels hold leaders Olympia

Super-7 leaders Olympia were held by London Angels in a thrilling match at Leyton Score Centre.

Olympia led at 8-5 at the break in a close first half. The second half went to Angels as they clawed back the three-point deficit as the match finished 12-12.  The result sees Angels move off the bottom after Cambridge lost to NEM Hawks. London GD’s win over West London Eagles sees Olympia’s lead at the top of the table cut to two points.

GD were comfortable victors against West London Eagles in the other Capital City derby this weekend, running out 35-25 winners at Sporthouse. GD have a game in hand on Olympia and the defending champions know that, as it stands, winning that match would take them top. Eagles, sit in fourth and are left searching for their first win since November.

Hawks made it two-wins-from-two as they beat Cambridge 25-21. It was all square at half time, but Hawks were stronger in the second period to claim maximum points. The result sees Hawks move three points ahead of bottom side, Cambridge, although the East Anglian side have a match in hand.
