Womens' Premier Handball League: Hawks eyeing second place

NEM Hawks play Cambridge this weekend with an eye on second spot in the Womens’ Premier Handball League.

Olympia host Peninsula, while London Angels travel to Coventry Sharks.

Cambridge and Hawks meet at Sporthouse on Saturday. Top-two London GD and West London Eagles are not in action this weekend and Hawks will know that victory will see them leapfrog Eagles into second. Hawks will be bidding to get back to winning ways after defeat at London GD last time out, while Cambridge will be hoping to bring a four-match losing run to an end. Throw-off at Sporthouse is at 13.30 and is followed by the Mens’ Premier Handball League clash between Cambridge and Hawks at 15.30.

Olympia and Peninsula face each other at Mayesbrook Park on Sunday. Peninsula go into the match boosted by their win over London Angels in the last round of matches – their first victory of the season. Olympia, in fourth, have lost their last two matches, against London GD and Coventry Sharks. Throw-off is at 15.00 and follows the Mens’ Premier Handball League match at 13.00 between Olympia and Liverpool in a great double bill.

Sharks host London Angels at Coventry Sport and Leisure Centre on Sunday. Angels dropped to eighth place following their defeat to Peninsula. They know, however, that victory, combined with defeat for either Peninsula or Cambridge, will see them move off the bottom rung. Sharks’ form has been mixed this season with three wins and three defeats. They won their last match against Olympia. Throw-off is at 16.00.
