community Handball coach: bristol sport foundation

Bristol Sport Foundation has a vacancy for a Community Handball Coach.

The role will be primarily focused on the delivery of high-quality sports coaching to children through Bristol Sport Foundation's Forever Sport primary school PE and sports coaching programme. This will include curriculum time PE lessons and the delivery of after school clubs.  

Collaborating with Bristol Handball Club and the England Handball Regional Delivery Manager you will also play a key role in helping to grow the club and the community Handball programme across the city.  The post-holder will have a unique opportunity to further their sports coaching and sports development career with a forward-thinking charity that harnesses the power of sport to positively change lives.  

Individual Requirements - as a minimum, you must: 

  • Hold a Level 1 UKCC sports coaching qualification
  • Have a passion for and knowledge of the sport of Handball
  • Have the desire and ambition to achieve the Level 1 and subsequently the Level 2 UKCC Handball coaching qualification, which BSF will support you with
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of coaching sport to children
  • A full valid UK driving license.  

You must have an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities in employment and sport, and an understanding of individual responsibility in complying with Health and Safety policies and arrangements.

You will be able to communicate effectively and present a highly professional image when representing BSF, establish positive working relationships with professional staff in schools and balance a determined application of the role with a sense of fun and enjoyment.     

Contract Type: 28 hours per week fixed term until 23 July 2019 – school term time only plus one day per school holiday and the annual leave entitlement. We expect the role to continue beyond this date.  

Annual Leave: 7 days to be taken during school holidays plus public holidays  

Salary: £25,000 pro rata – actual £8,750 (for the 26-week, 28-hour contract contract)

carshalton titans under-19 coach

Carshalton Titans are looking for a coach for their boys' under-19 team.

Reports to: The committee of Carshalton Titans Handball Club

Responsible for: Under-19 players and progress

Job Based: At Greenshaw High School (SM1 3DY), and travel on game dates  

Overall Purpose of the Job

  • To lead the development of a high-performance squad for their continued progress into the league, and their future development into senior competition as well as any national or international selection
  • To design and implement high quality periodised training and competition programmes for some of the players
  • To work with the club’s head coach to employ an overall plan, ethos and playing style
