England Handball have announced details of its funding to support clubs in their continued recovery from Covid and to grow!
As an indoor, contact sport, handball has been hit hard by the Covid 19 restrictions but the handball club network in England has been brilliantly resilient over the past two years, keeping players, coaches and volunteers engaged in the game despite not being on court. Whilst there has been a reduction in teams and players, the whole handball community is working hard to bounce back and reclaim the court!
England Handball strongly believes that the recovery and growth of club network on the back of covid centres around clubs engaging within their local communities with a real focus on engaging children in handball at a much earlier age.
To this end we are delighted to provide details of two funding pots:
Both funds will be open to any EHA affiliated (full or emerging) club that meet our fit for purpose criteria.
Clubs can apply to the Club Support Fund for up to £1000 (initially) to enable the delivery of projects that support the growth of their club. There will be priority given to those projects that focus on engaging with younger children (U12) but that is not to say that other projects will not be funded. You can find more information on this fund in the Club Support Fund guidance document here and DOWNLOAD an application form here.
Clubs can apply to the Volunteer Support Fund for up to £250 (initially) to support the development of their volunteer workforce. This fund can be relatively flexible in terms of the demand from the clubs – is the demand for qualifications, DBS checks or something more creative? More information on this fund can be found in the guidance document here and DOWNLOAD an application form here.
The deadline for the Club Support Fund applications is 31st December 2021.
We will be accepting applications for the Volunteer Support Fund until 14th January 2021 (further application windows may follow depending on demand)
