Youth Coaching and Club Support

England Handball is pleased to announce a new youth coaching and club support project.

We know that handball clubs in England are passionate about developing and growing the game and are eager to make links within their local communities but often lack the coaching capacity within their club to be able to deliver.

England Handball has designed this programme to meet two strategic objectives:

  • To support the development of the next generation of handball coaches in England, and
  • To support our Pro Active clubs to enable more people to discover, engage in and achieve through handball.

This project will initially support four young coaches over the age of 16 but under the age of 20, each to work with an England Handball accredited Pro Active Club. The coaches will receive up to £2250 for the delivery of up to 365 coaching hours over a six month period (October to March). As part of the project, the coaches will also have the opportunity to assist the delivery of the England Handball Regional Academy sessions and to complete a heavily subsidised L2 Certificate in Coaching Handball.

This programme is open to any coach (under the age of 20) in England, the coach must hold a handball L1 in coaching handball and be willing and able to work in partnership with one of England Handball’s accredited Pro Active Clubs. If you are not involved with a Pro Active Handball Club, but would like to get involved with the project, please get in touch, we can link you up with your nearest Pro Active Club. You can find a list of our Pro Active Clubs here https://www.englandhandball.com/club-support-and-development/england-handball-s-club-support-programme
