Manchester Handball Club was founded in 2003 Damien Noel, Karim Hammache and Gregory Pinoteau. The club started with a men's team which was soon promoted to the top division. The team also competed in Europe, while a second men's team - that completed in the Regional Development League, was also formed.
Development of a women's section began in 2010. They played in the Liverpool International Tournament in 2012, and currently play in the North Regional Development League.
Manchester also has links with the University of Manchester team and has under-18 and under-14 sections. It also works within the community to take handball to youngsters.
