Recreational "Rec-it" League 

England Handball recognise the need to have a lower entry-level Handball option for emerging teams who are not ready to commit to the Regional Leagues and formalised competition which involve:

  • Structred competition 
  • Fixed rules and regulations 
  • Registrations and approved memberships 

Therefore England Handball is introducing the Rec-IT league

Teams play fixtures home and away (Triangular fixtures can be arranged) at times that are convenient to them across the season. The purpose of the Rec-it league is to offer a low level friendly competition to support and develop clubs with regular competition as they look to become fully sustainable clubs. 

This league is perfect for emerging clubs, new development teams and new university teams. 

Leagues are split up in a regional basis. 


  • NO member registrations required
  • NO  ITCs
  • Players can be from any club or mixed teams
  • Teams provide referees during the day or clubs can host

    You can sign up for the Rec-it league via the England Handball Azolve System - teams that do not have an azolve platform login and sign up for one here: 
  • Minimum Requirements for clubs

    Anyone coaching independently or leading a session must have:  
    ●      Minimum level 1 Coaching Handball qualification
    ●      It is best practice for coaches to be First Aid trained as well

    Any coach leading sessions with youth players (u18) must also have:

    ●      UK Coaching: Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification
    ●      DBS Check (for relevant age group e.g. Children/Minors)         

    Club Welfare
    All clubs must have a named and trained Club welfare officer, this training includes:
    ●      CPSU: Time to listen course  
    ●      This person must be identified on the England Handball Azolve system, with a copy of their qualification.      

      Club First Aid
    All clubs must have a named and trained First Aider.
