A 'Week-in-the-Life-of': Andy Clark

A packed week began with a meeting with Warrington Wolves and Chester University. We discussed the development of a university coaching placement to support Wolves’ outreach programme and club growth.

I then travelled to the North East to support the handball competition at the Northumberland school games. The aim is to integrate the competition into next year’s national schools’ competition.

NEM Hawks was the focus of my next two meetings. First of all I talked to Oldham College regarding the delivery of the Level-1 coaching and referee courses, and a potential link to Hawks.

I then met with Hawks to discuss support for newly trained Level-2 coaches.

Facilities are always a challenge and this week I met with Liverpool John Moores’ University and Edge Hill University regarding potential access to their facilities for handball activities.

The week also saw a round of meetings with County Sport Partnerships as I followed up with Cheshire Sport, Greater Sport and Lancashire Sport regarding handball development for 2018/19. Discussions included county school competition growth and development.
