British University Championships 2019.20 Update!
Registration for the University Championships will open in January 2020 under a newly revised format which in turn is being presented as part of the pathway for Handballs inclusion within BUCS for the 2020.21 season.
The new format will see the competition run over one weekend as a stand-alone National Final hosted at Medway Sports Park in Gillingham. The University Finals have been hosted for a number of seasons at Medway and the England Handball Association is forward to returning to the venue again for another massive weekend of handball.
National Cup Men (open to 12 teams)
National Cup Women (open to 10 teams)
Teams entering the national cup are advised to be of a performance level either competing regularly in competition inside the England Handball leagues or some other form of competition. Or having finished in the top 16 in previous university competitions.
National Plate Men (open to 12 teams)
National Plate Women (open to 10 teams)
The plate competition is advised for clubs 2nd teams and developing clubs.
Team entry is open to all universities with team entry on a first come first served basis, once team entries are full a reserve list will be issued and teams added to the waiting list should availability in either competition become available.
Teams entering the university championships will need to provide 2 referees, these officials will be mentored throughout the weekend by the England Handball Referee Developers and Assessors as part of ongoing CPD towards future qualifications.

Saturday 7th March 2020 - 09:30 to 21:00 (Group stages)
Sunday 8th March 2020 - 09:30 to 19:00 (Finals)
