Changes to England Handball National Cup and Shield

England Handball has decided to stop holding the National Shield in order to drive the competitiveness of the National Cup. This is due to the low number of teams entering the Shield in recent years.

Instead, the National Cup will start with rounds organised on a regional basis. The first rounds are regionally based before moving to national rounds, and rounds will be given a set date they need to be played by.

The quarters, semi-finals and finals will be hosted by England Handball.

It’s important to remember that team entry is not automatic: teams must sign up to enter – and this includes Premier Handball League and National League teams.

The registration date is 6 August and the cost is £10 per team. Any questions please get in touch.
