Defending champions reach finals of boys' Under-16 competition

Defending Under-16 boys' County champions Greater Manchester booked their place in the national finals as the competition got underway with regional qualifiers in the London/South East, North and East regions.

Greater Manchester completed a clean sweep in the North as the girls also took the regional honours at Oldham.

The London and South East qualifiers were held at SportHouse. South West London won the boys’ event, while Sussex girls also progressed to the national finals.   

The East Region qualifying event took place at Cranfield. In the boys’ competition Buckinghamshire secured the regional berth in the national finals, while Essex won through in the girl’s competition.  

The teams will now wait to see who the winners are from the final two regions, the South West and the Midlands, when they hold their qualifiers on 23 October.  

The national finals take place at Stoke Mandeville on 4 December.
