Derby Arena set for play-off action

Derby Arena is the venue for this weekend’s play-off matches as teams battle it out for promotion.

First up is the play-off to go up to the Mens’ National South League, with Bristol taking on Chelsea. Bristol impressed this season with eight wins from 10 games, although they lost their final match of the regular season, against University of Bath. Chelsea, meanwhile, won seven of their 10 league clashes this term. Throw-off is at 12.30.

Next up, at 15.00, is the match to decide who plays in the Mens’ Premier Handball League next season, when Loughborough University play Brighton. Loughborough lost their last match of the season, against Coventry, by a single goal. However, before that they enjoyed a five-match unbeaten run. Brighton, lost just one league match this season, against Poole Phoenix, back in February.

The final game of the day pitches Loughborough University against Reading, as the two teams bid for promotion to the Womens’ Premier Handball League. Both teams recorded 100 per cent records in the Midlands and South West League, respectively. Throw-off in the battle of the ‘invincibles’ is at 17.30.
