England Handball launches Activator course

England Handball has launched its new Handball Activator course for people who want to take handball into schools, colleges or the wider community.

Participants who complete the course will be able to use handball to increase activity, and improve well-being.

The course takes participants through Try Handball as a mechanism to deliver community handball. Try Handball is England Handball’s small-sided version of the game. It can be played in pretty much any available space and is designed for people new to handball.

The course is for groups of between 14 and 21 people and costs £350. It can be booked by emailing coachingadmin@englandhandball.com If you book before 5 October 2018 you will receive a 10% discount. Please note this discount only applies to this course. Also it will not apply to previous Handball Activator courses that have been booked, or are booked and then cancelled by the participant.

England Handball National Partnerships Manager Stacey Andrews said: “The Activator course will help increase physical activity through handball.”

“Try Handball works perfectly as a way for Activators to deliver handball. It is great for people not just new to handball, but new to sport and physical activity in general.”

England Handball Coaching and Workforce Manager Miriam Beales said: “The main reason for developing the Activator Award was to get people at all levels and ages interested in handball and enabling people to deliver the sport through mechanisms like Try Handball in informal settings.”
