The Board of England Handball is seeking applications for a role as a Non-Exec Director and also for members of the newly formed Competitions Advisory Group.
England Handball is looking to make the appointments as part of its continuing development of its governance structure, and to ensure it maintains its compliance with the Code of Sports Governance.
In its 2017-21 strategy, England Handball set out its vision for the future of the sport which is for everyone to have the chance to ‘be part of the excitement’ of handball.
This will be achieved by focusing our work on priority areas of activity:
In addition, England Handball has identified core values that guide England Handball’s internal conduct and its relationship with the external world.

Non-Exec Director Following the completion of a four-year term in office, an election will take place at the England Handball AGM on 24 June to fill a position on the England Handball Board.
The Director currently in post, Chris Smith, has expressed his intention to seek re-election for a second and final term. It is England Handball’s policy to allow the membership to re-elect Chris or elect an alternative candidate. On this basis, the Board is seeking applications from individuals who would like to be put forward to members for voting.
In line with its approach of having a skills and knowledge based board, we are particularly keen to receive nominations from anyone who has experience in any of the following areas:
The position is available on a four-year term in line with the England Handball’s Articles of Association and a comprehensive induction will be provided following the election.
The elected Non-Executive Director will contribute to the Board’s leadership, ensuring delivery of the vision and priority activities, and consistently demonstrating the values.
Competition Advisory Group Members
In order to support the future development of its competition and events structure, the board wishes to establish a Competition Advisory Group to help provide advice and guidance on key issues.
We are, therefore, seeking applications from individuals who feel they have the necessary skills and experience to be able to support this important area of our work.
The board is particularly keen to receive nominations from anyone who has experience in any of the following areas:
Applications will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee and suitable candidates will be invited for interview in line with England Handball’s published policy on recruitment.
