England Handball statement: Guidance for clubs after the passing of HM Elizabeth II

Following the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the England Handball Association has been issued with guidance for clubs on sporting activities during the national mourning period.

At this time, clubs can continue any planned activities or training over the course of the weekend 10th/11th September and the week commencing 12th September.

In the event of further guidance being issued relating to the state funeral, which is expected to take place on Monday 19th September, this will be shared with clubs as soon as possible.

During handball activities during this time, clubs and individuals may wish to:

·  Adopt the use of black armbands or black ribbons

· Hold a 2 minutes’ silence before the activity commences as a mark of respect

Clubs and individuals may also use their own discretion to consider how they should proceed during the mourning period.
