The ‘long-list’ squad for the GB men’s Under-21s has been announced as the build-up to November’s IHF Trophy in Georgia gets underway.
The squad is:

The long list will be reduced to 14 prior to the competition.
The squad will have two training camps ahead of the tournament, which takes place from 8-14 November. The first camp will be in Nottingham from 7-9 October. It will focus on testing and selection, with two training sessions a day, and a possible friendly match. The squad will then travel to Portugal from 31 October to 7 November for a holding camp. Again the squad will be put through two training sessions a day, with the possibility of a training match. Following the Portugal camp the 14-man squad will travel to Georgia for the competition.
Head Coach Ricardo Vasconcelos said: “It's really exciting to be able to enter the IHF Trophy. It will give some of these athletes international experience. This will help them deliver if, and when, selected to the GB Senior Squad. “The amount of quality players in this age group is testament to great work of club coaches across Britain in developing players. “There are other player who could have easily made this squad and they will be closely observed for future opportunities. “The training camps will allow us to focus on outcomes and process. We will be giving our all to win every game at the IHF Trophy.”
