GD and Cambridge meet in Cup first round
The Women’s National Cup gets underway with two first-round matches. 2015 Cup winners
London GD take on Cambridge in an all Super-7 clash at Leyton. The two sides meet just a week after GD edged out Cambridge 29-27 at the Copper Box in the league. Throw-off is at 15.30 on 21 January.
The other first-round match pitches North against South as Peninsula of the North Regional Development League take on Poole Phoenix of South-West Regional Development League at Powerleague Trafford. Both teams are going great guns, topping their respective leagues. Peninsula in particular have been in good form with six wins from seven matches, and a narrow win over fellow high-flyers Newcastle Vikings last time out. Throw-off is at 16.30 on 21 January.
