London GD completed the double after beating Coventry Sharks 23-17 in the Womens’ National Cup.
Coventry started the match brightly. However GD began to find ways through the physically strong Sharks defence to move into the lead, and take a 14-8 advantage into half time.
The second half was a closer affair but Sharks were unable to reduce the deficit as Womens’ Premier Handball League Champions GD ran out winners.
GD’s Maria Terez Perez was named Most Valuable Player, the centre back impressing with six goals. Sharks’ pivot Karolina Rzepa top-scored in the match with seven strikes.
GD keeper Anna Baikova and her Sharks’ counterpart Monika Ciezkowska both made penalty saves.
