Olympia Cannock top the girl’s Under-18 Super-4 table after the first-round of matches at the Northgate Arena in Chester.
Cannock beat Peninsula 18-12 and Wolves 22-16. Hackney GD sit in second place, behind Cannock on goal difference after also winning both their matches. They overcame Peninsula 24-16, and won 22-19 against Warrington Wolves.
Wolves and Peninsula both have two points from their matches, Wolves’ better goal difference seeing them sit in third place.
The teams will meet again on 26 March where they will play their final round-robin match, and then the play-off matches in which first place will take on fourth place, and second will meet third.
In the girl’s Under-18 Championship Poole Phoenix top the standings after the first round of matches at Stoke Mandeville, England Handball’s National Training Centre.
Poole won both their games, beating Somerset 17-8, and Stroud 20-16. Stroud won the day’s other match, running out 18-9 victors over Somerset. The second round of matches will also take place on 26 March. All the teams will play each other again, with the top two reaching the Championship final.
