Girls Under-19 leagues: Hawks aim to stay unbeaten

The Under-19 girls leagues resume with both of last year’s finalists in action.

NEM Hawks are unbeaten so far, and this weekend face Peninsula at Northgate Arena in Girls North. Shropshire play 2018 champions Olympia Cannock, who have lost two and drawn one of their three games so far this season.

Last season, Olympia Cannock, Shropshire, NEM Hawks and Warrington Wolves qualified from the girls’ North league for the Under-19 play-offs, with Cannock defeating Stroud in the final.

Every team in the Girls South League is playing this weekend. Last season, Stroud, Poole Phoenix, Hackney GD and Ealing (now West London Eagles after a merger) qualified for the play-offs.

At Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Islington play Stroud and West London Eagles. Stroud will then face Eagles and Essex. Medway Falcons will play Eagles and Essex.

The other matches take place at Harewood College, Bournemouth. Poole Phoenix play Cambridge and Bideford Blacks. Blacks will also face Cambridge.
