Handball action at the London Youth Games

London Youth Games saw some of the top young handball players in London go head-to-head.

11 London boroughs entered the girls competition on Saturday 15 June, with Redbridge comfortably going undefeated for the whole competition to win gold. Ealing, the defending champion from the last two London Youth Games grabbed the silver. Waltham Forest completed the podium in third.

The following day the boys competition took place with 12 boroughs entered. It was the turn of last year’s bronze medallists, Islington, to shine. With players having developed over the past three years Islington went undefeated and deservedly won the gold medal. Haringey finished second, and defending champions Ealing finished with the bronze medal.

Thanks to the London Youth Games team and volunteers and referees from the England Handball club community for supporting the competition.
