Hurricanes edge Sabres to win Men's Shield

Essex Hurricanes beat Guildford Sabres 24-22 in a nail-biting encounter to lift the Men's National Shield.

The team's couldn't be split in the first half which ended 11-11.

The second half saw Essex begin to pull away. Howerver, Guildford changed tactics to a more aggressive defence and man-to-marking, a move that pulled them back into the game.

However, Essex weathered the storm and edged back ahead to take the honours at the final whistle.

Giedruis Zyvatkauskis top scored for Essex with six goals. Fabio Goutet headed the scoring charts for Sabres, finding the back of the net seven times.
