Lionesses add National Shield to trophy cabinet

Reading Lionesses added more silverware to their trophy cabinet with a 24-10 win against Loughborough in the National Womens’ Shield.

The first few minutes were relatively even, before Reading began to take a grip on the game, to go into the break with a 13-8 advantage.

The Lionesses dominated the second period, adding nine goals to Loughborough’s two goals.

Reading’s Alina Popescu was named the Most Valuable Player, the right-back scoring an impressive nine goals. Centre-back Emese Mozes-Racz beat the keeper seven times. Madeline Edwards top-scored for Loughborough with four strikes.
