Liza Ware of CPSU to lead Handball Conference Workshop

England Handball is delighted that Liza Ware from CPSU will lead a workshop on Child Protection and Club Welfare at the Handball Conference on 22 June.

Liza has close to 20 years’ experience in safeguarding and child protection. She joined the CPSU in March 2018. Prior to joining the organisation, Liza worked for Lincolnshire Children’s Services, as an advanced Social Worker. Previous posts include Children’s Rights manager and Regional Participation Coordinator for Barnardo’s.

Liza is part of the England Senior Consultants team at the CPSU, who provide safeguarding support to NGBs and CSPs. Liza's work within the team focuses on equality and diversity in sport, involving children and young people - and supporting UK Sport bodies with safeguarding guidance.

Liza joins a roster of top speakers at the conference. Other sessions include:

  • A workshop from John Fletcher of the Magic Academy on 'Coaching the Performer'.
  • A keynote on 'Game management and rules interpretation for referees' from London 2012 and EHF referee Alan Stokes
  • A keynote from Sport England on 'How to engage and retain more young people at your club' ·   
  • A keynote from England Handball’s Ricardo Vasconcelos on the newly developed tutor courses

In addition, there will be the England Handball end-of-season Awards. The AGM will follow the workshops.

The Conference takes place at Loughborough College, Radmore Road LE1 3BT, getting underway at 10.00.
