It was another highly competitive weekend in the men’s National League North, with just four goals the total margin between two matches.
University of Loughborough welcomed Coventry Sharks to the university campus. At half-time the match was in the balance with the score being 10-9 to Loughborough. At full-time the students slightly increased their lead to win 22-19.
Joseph Lloyd netted five times for the home team, and Kamil Marciniec scored six times for Sharks.
Liverpool versus Manchester was end to end early on with both teams locked on 7-7, but a flurry of goals by Liverpool’s Nuno gave Liverpool a lead of 15-9 at half time.
The second half saw Manchester respond and during a frenetic period of play with less than two minutes left, left Manchester levelled the scores at 25-25. Adam Boggiano thought he scored the winner with 40 seconds left, but Pierre Fraisse equalised levelling the score at 26-26.
With just 15 seconds left Connor Leyland became the hero of the day scoring from the wing to give Liverpool a 27-26 win.
After four rounds, Liverpool are top of the league having won all four. Sharks are in second with two wins, followed by Loughborough and Manchester equal on six points having won one match each.
