Men's National League North: Liverpool and Sharks remain unbeaten

In the men’s National League North, Liverpool continued their unbeaten start to season with a 30-21 win against a young University of Loughborough side.

Liverpool started quickly with Nuno Carvalho scoring the first four goals of the match to see the Merseysiders move into a 10-3 lead. The students hit back with three penalties from Joby Lloyd and the first half ended 16-10 to Liverpool. Liverpool extended their lead in the second half to win 30-21.

Top scorer for Liverpool was Nuno who finished with 11 goals, and Joby Lloyd scored eight goals for Loughborough.

Coventry Sharks beat Manchester 30-20 after leading 16-7 at half-time. Artis Batalovs netted ten times for Sharks and was Player of the Match, and Joey Amoah scored six times for the Mancunians.

Sharks lead Liverpool at the top of the table on goal difference with both having won two from two. The two teams face each other in a fortnight to decide who will occupy that top spot.
