Men's National Shield: Sabres and Hurricanes through

Guildford Sabres and Essex Hurricanes were victorious in their respective semi-finals and have qualified for the England Handball National Shield men’s final.

Sabres beat Reading Lions 30-25, and Manchester narrowly went down to Essex 22-24.

Sabres and Lions were level at half-time, but in the second-half the Surrey-based team continued their incredible run of form in this competition and ran out winners by five goals. Fabio Goutet netted ten times for Sabres, and Vasco Correia scored eight. Kiril Tankov got seven for the Lions.

In the second semi-final, Essex Hurricanes were two goals down at half-time as the teams turned around with the score at 10-8 to Manchester. In the second half they fought back to take the win, and a place in the National Finals, by two goals. Lukas Okobo scored ten goals for Manchester. Vytautas Rakickas netted seven times for Essex.
