Cambridge take on NEM Hawks in the Men’s Premier Handball League this weekend.
There are Capital City derbies between London GD and West London Eagles, and Carshalton Titans and Olympia, while Warrington Wolves host Nottingham.
Cambridge head the standings, along with GD, on goal difference after beating Eagles 34-28 on the opening weekend of the season. They face a Hawks side who will be looking to get on the winning trail after a 23-17 reverse at GD. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday is at 13.30. The match precedes the Women’s Premier Handball League match between the two sides, which throws off at 15.30, in a great double bill.
Eagles and GD meet at Leyton Score Centre on Sunday. Defending champions GD go into the match with an eye on making it two-wins-from-two. Eagles will be bidding to put defeat against Cambridge behind them and claim maximum points. Throw-off is at 14.00. It is followed by the clash between Eagles and GD in the Women’s Premier Handball League in another great double-header.
Promoted Carshalton Titans marked their first match in the Premier Handball League with a win over North-West powerhouse Warrington Wolves. They’ll be hoping to continue that form against another of the league’s big names, Olympia. Olympia, themselves, also made a winning start to the campaign with a 29-24 victory over Nottingham. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse on Sunday is at 15.00.
Nottingham and Wolves take on each other at Sutton Bonnington Sports Centre on Sunday. Both sides will be bidding to turn things around after opening-day defeats. Throw-off is at 12.30.
