NEM Hawks stay top of the Men’s Premier Handball League after winning against Cambridge.
Nottingham overcame Warrington Wolves, while London GD beat West London Eagles, and Carshalton secured victory over Olympia.
Harry Morley lead the way for Hawks with 14 goals as they beat Cambridge 35-25, building on a 16-19 half-time advantage. Charlie Fletcher also weighed in with an impressive nine goals for the North-west side. Josh Braker top-scored for Cambridge, beating the keeper seven times. The defeat, combined with Carshalton’s win, sees Cambridge drop to sixth place in the table.
Nottingham remain in second spot courtesy of a 32-26 win over Warrington Wolves. The victory sees Nottingham on 23 points, one behind leaders Hawks.
GD won 26-19 against Bottom side Eagles. A close first half finished 14-11, but GD pulled away in the second period. Eagles’ Fabio Coutet was on target again, finding the back of the net 10 times, while Francisco Cuenca fired home six times for GD. GD stay in third spot, one point behind Nottingham in a tight top three.
Titans secured their fourth win of the season with a close 21-19 success over Olympia. Titans led 12-9 at half time. Olympia edged the second 30 minutes but couldn’t close the gap. Titans spread the goals around. Regis Dore was their top scorer with five goals. Olympia’s Bruno de Moura headed the scoring charts for Olympia with six strikes. Titans climb to fifth, just goal difference separating them from Olympia in fourth.
