Men's Premier Handball League: Hawks climb to third

Victory over West London Eagles in their penultimate match in the men’s Premier Handball League has seen NEM Hawks rise one place in the league table to third.

The final league positions won’t be confirmed until the final match of the season, between Warrington Wolves and Brighton Seahawks, on 5 May.

Hawks started strongly and had a four-goal lead at half-time. They extended this to six at the close, with Josh McDaid, Jamal Braithwaite and Charlie Fletcher all impressing on the scoresheet. Eagles’ Lucas Carstens and Joachim Ernst both led the scoring for the Londoners.

Hawks’ three points they took against Eagles has now left them six points behind leaders London GD and three points behind second-placed Olympia. West London Eagles are in seventh, albeit on equal points with the two teams ahead of them. Easter is a weekend off in the Premier Handball Weekend but action resumes on 27 April with all eight teams in action.
