Men's Premier Handball League: Leaders GD face Second-place Hawks

London GD travel to NEM Hawks in the Men’s Premier Handball League this weekend as first plays second in a huge encounter.

Nottingham - in third - play fourth-place Olympia, Carshalton Titans host Warrington Wolves, and West London Eagles face Cambridge.

GD and Hawks are only separated by goal difference. Hawks lost their first match of the season, since when they are unbeaten with five wins and a draw to their name. GD have also won five and drawn one, their one defeat coming in week three against Nottingham. Whoever wins will go clear at the top - with both sides also aware that Nottingham are breathing down their neck. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday is at 15.30. It is preceded by the Women’s Premier Handball League match between the two sides at 13.30 in a great double bill.

Nottingham were knocked off top spot after losing to Hawks in their last clash. It was their first reverse in five games – their last defeat coming at the hands of Olympia in the opening week of the season. Nottingham will be looking to return to winning ways, as will Olympia. The London side, who were unbeaten in their first five matches, have lost their last two games. Throw-off at Derby Arena is at 14.30 on Sunday.

Premier Handball League new-boys Carshalton Titans secured their third win of the season last time out when they beat bottom side West London Eagles. Warrington Wolves lie in seventh spot in the table, just one point ahead of Eagles. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse is at 15.00 on Sunday.

Eagles and Cambridge meet at Barking Sporthouse at 15.00 on Saturday. Eagles go into the match still looking for their first win of the campaign. Cambridge are unbeaten in their last three matches, with a draw followed by two wins, and will be bidding to continue that run. Ahead of that match Eagles play Cambridge in the Women’s Premier Handball League at 13.30 in another great double-header.
