Men's Premier Handball League: Leaders Nottingham face Eagles

Men’s Premier Handball League leaders Nottingham travel to West London Eagles this weekend, while Cambridge host second-place Olympia.

Warrington Wolves take on London GD, and Carshalton Titans play NEM Hawks.

Nottingham head the table on goal difference, thanks in no small part to goal-machine Francisco Pereira. They beat Carshalton Titans in their last outing to notch up their fourth win of the season. Eagles are still searching for their first victory of the campaign, although they will be buoyed after pushing Hawks close in the last round of matches. Throw-off at Leyton Score Centre is at 14.30 on Sunday. It is followed by the Women’s Premier Handball League clash between Eagles and Reading Lionesses at 16.30 in a great double bill.

Cambridge, in sixth, and unbeaten Olympia, meet at Barking Sporthouse at 13.00 on Saturday. Olympia edged past strugglers Warrington Wolves in their last match. Cambridge, meanwhile, drew with London GD, to end a sequence of three defeats. A double-header sees the match followed by the Women’s Premier Handball League clash between the two sides at 15.00.

Smithills Sports Centre in Bolton is the venue for Wolves’ clash with London GD. Wolves will go into the match with confidence after running Olympia so close last time out. GD have lost just once so far this season, a thriller against Nottingham, but will want to return to winning ways after being held by Cambridge. Throw-off is at 12.30 on Sunday.

Hawks lost their opener this season. Since then they’re unbeaten with three wins and a draw, a run that sees them in fourth, behind GD on goal difference and just a point behind the top two. Titans, in fifth, have lost their last two matches and will be bidding for maximum points against the North-West side in front of their home fans. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse on Sunday is at 15.00. The game is preceded by Hawks against London Angels in the Women’s Premier Handball League in another festival of handball.
