Men's Premier Handball League: Nottingham Go Top

Nottingham moved top of the Men’s Premier Handball League with victory over West London Eagles, while London GD beat Cambridge.

Nottingham won 26-14 over bottom side Eagles, extending their advantage in the second period after heading into the break 12-9 up. Benjamin Howard scored six goals for Nottingham, while Josh Plumridge weighed in with five strikes. Ossama El Gardha top scored for Eagles, beating the keeper three times. The result sees Nottingham head the table on 22 points, one ahead of second-place Olympia. Eagles are bottom on 10 points, behind Cambridge and Carshalton Titans on goal difference.

London GD are a further point behind Nottingham, keeping up the pressure on the top two with a 40-23 win against Cambridge. GD took control in the second half after the first 30 minutes finished with them holding an 18-13 lead. Jeremy Archier led the way for GD, hitting the back of the net nine times. Cambridge’s Alejandro Garcia Costa matched his achievement with nine goals for the East Anglian side.
