Men's Premier Handball League: Nottingham Stay 100%

Nottingham kept their 100% record this season with victory over London GD. NEM Hawks drew with leaders Olympia, and Cambridge beat Carshalton Titans to secure their first win of the season.

Nottingham ran out 28-24 winners against GD. The East Midlands side led 14-11 at the break, extending their advantage by a further goal in the second period. GD’s Ollie Tyler top scored in the match with 10 goals, while Josh Plumridge found the back of the net eight times for Nottingham. The result sees Nottingham move into second spot on 12 points, two behind Olympia, but with a game in hand. GD drop to third on 11 points, having also played a game more than Nottingham.

Olympia saw their perfect record this season fall as their match against Hawks finished 31-31. Olympia trailed 16-19 at half time. However, they clawed the defecit back in the second 30 minutes as the game finished all square. Jonas Petrikejevas led the way for Olympia with 11 strikes, while Ryan Goodwin beat the keeper eight times for Hawks. Hawks are fourth in the table on eight points, but have played just three matches.

Cambridge beat Titans 28-24 to break their duck for the season. Cambridge had to come from behind to claim maximum points as Titans held a 12-10 advantage after the first period. Cambridge shared the goals around Alejandro Garcia Costa scoring six, while Tobias Barber and Julius Baeck both notched five goals. Adam Latter hit five for Titans who are left searching for their first win of the campaign.
