Nottingham stay top of the Men’s Premier Handball League with victory over Cambridge.
London GD beat Carshalton Tigers and NEM Hawks won against West London Eagles.
Nottingham ran out 35-26 winners, pulling away in the second period after going into the break after a tight first half with a 17-15 lead. Nottingham’s Benjamin Howard topped the scoring charts with an impressive 18 goals. Joshua Braker beat the keeper five times for Cambridge. Nottingham head the standings with 25 points, while Cambridge sit bottom on 11 points, behind Titans on goal difference.
GD are in second spot, two points adrift of Nottingham following their 32-14 win against Carshalton. GD took control in the second half after the teams went into the break with GD leading 14-9. GD shared the goals around with both Jeremy Archier and Felix Schawaller finding the back of the net six times. Regis Dore top scored for Titans with three strikes.
Hawks remain fourth in the table after their 27-22 win over Eagles, but move level on 21 points with early pacesetters Olympia, behind the London side on goal difference. Like Olympia, they also have a game in hand on the top two. Hawks led 14-10 at half time, extending their advantage by one goal in a tighter second period. Ryan Goodwin hit seven goals for Hawks, although Eagles’ Deividas Krukauskas was the games top scorer, hitting the target nine times. Eagles lie in fifth place in the table, one point better off than the bottom two, having played a game more.
