Men's Premier Handball League: Olympia Edge Out Eagles To Stay Top

Olympia stayed top of the Men’s Premier Handball League after edging out West London Eagles in a thriller.

Nottingham moved into second with victory over Carshalton Titans.

Olympia were pushed hard by bottom side Eagles, running out narrow 28-27 winners,. The sides could not be separated in the second period, after a first half which finished 13-12 in Olympia’s favour. Eagles Cedric Darie top scored in the game with seven strikes, his teammate Deividas Krukauskas weighing in with six goals. Olympia’s Mantas Treinys also beat the keeper six times. Olympia have 21 points from eight games, while Eagles sit on nine points from seven matches.

Nottingham put their defeat against NEM Hawks last time out behind them to beat Titans 38-27. Nottingham led 18-14 at half time, and extended their advantage after the break. Benjamin Howard led the way for Nottingham, finding the back of the net and impressive 12 times. Tyler Gilbert scored nine for Titans, and Adam Latter hit the target eight times. Nottingham lie two points behind Olympia, with a game in hand. Titans are in fifth spot with 10 points from eight matches.
