The two teams with a 100% win rate so far this season will do battle this weekend in a top of the table clash in the men’s Premier Handball League. Elsewhere, Nottingham play West London Eagles, NEM Hawks face Cambridge and Brighton Seahawks play London GD.
Warrington Wolves, with nine points from three matches, face Olympia, with six points from two games, at Leyton Score Centre. Wolves’s three-point margin over the rest of the league means they will retain the top spot irrespective of the result of the match, but both teams will want to retain that clean sheet of wins. Throw-off is at 16.30.
The game will be preceded by Olympia’s women’s match, against London Angels.
Nottingham will welcome West London Eagles to Derby Arena – scene of the 2018 National Finals – for a match between fifth and sixth in the table. Both teams are on five points after three rounds so this could be a nail-biter. Throw-off is at 14.30.
Sunday’s fixtures start with NEM Hawks playing Cambridge at Oldham Leisure Centre. The teams throw-off at 13.30. Cambridge are two points behind Hawks in the table but with a game in hand. Hawks, the 2018 National Cup runners-up, could go into second in the table if they win here.
After this game, Hawks’ women will play Peninsula at 15.30 on the same court.
The final match of the weekend sees 2018 league champions GD travel to Worthing Leisure Centre to play newly promoted Brighton Seahawks. GD defeated Nottingham last time out.
Seahawks are still waiting for their first win and went down by six goals to West London Eagles in the previous round. Throw-off is at 14.30.
