Men’s Premier Handball League leaders Nottingham play Cambridge, while second place NEM Hawks face Warrington Wolves in a North-West derby.
Third-place London GD take on Carshalton Titans, and Olympia and West London Eagles meet in another London derby.
Nottingham returned to the top of the table after they won against London GD last time out, and Hawks lost to Olympia. They face a Cambridge side struggling for form, and that has lost their last three matches. Throw-off at Moulton College is at 14.30 on Saturday.
Hawks will be looking to return to winning ways after Olympia brought to an end a six-game winning streak, and an unbeaten run of seven matches. They know victory, combined with a Nottingham defeat would see them head the standings once more. Warrington go into the clash buoyed by a win against West London Eagles in their last encounter, a victory that took them three points clear of the bottom side. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre is at 14.30 on Sunday.
GD, like Hawks, will be bidding to put defeat in their last game behind them. That reverse was GD’s second in three matches, after also losing against Hawks. Titans are enjoying their first ever season in the top flight and recorded their fifth win of the campaign when they beat Cambridge in their last match. If they win and Olympia lose or draw, they will go into the top four. Throw-off at Leyton Score Centre is at 14.30 on Saturday. It is preceded by the Women’s Premier Handball League match between GD and London angels at 12.30 in a great double-bill.
Olympia and West London Eagles meet at Barking Sporthouse on Saturday at 15.00. Eagles prop up the table and have just one win and one draw from 10 games. Olympia turned round their previous form of four losses in a row to beat, then leaders, Hawks in their last match. Prior to the game Olympia and Eagles meet in the Women’s Premier Handball League at 13.00, in another super double-header.
