Men's Super-8: Wolves beat Eagles to top festive standings

Warrington Wolves will head the standings over the festive period after they ran out winners against West London Eagles.

Wolves returned from the Capital with 30-26 victory to move on 16 points from six matches. Eagles, who could have top themselves if they had won, lie in fourth on 14 points.

NEM Hawks were involved in another thriller after they and Coventry drew 37-37 in a high-scoring encounter. Hawks, who also had an eye on top spot are second on 15 points, while Coventry remain bottom, still searching for their first win.

Cambridge also has 15 points after beating Super-8 new boys Nottingham 33-26. The East-Anglian side, which has played seven games, sit behind Hawks on goal difference. Nottingham are seventh with nine points from their seven matches.

Defending champions London GD returned to winning ways after edging past Olympia 26-25. Sixth-placed GD have 11 points from five games, one point less than Olympia in fifth, who’ve played a match more.
