It’s a re-run of last season’s National Under-19 boys final this weekend when defending champions Warrington Wolves play NEM Hawks.
The northern neighbours are drawn against each other in their opening fixture of the 2018/19 Under-19 league at Aldersley Leisure Village. The other boys match of the weekend inthe North region has Nottingham playing Shropshire.
Hawks and Wolves girls have also been drawn against each other in the opening round of fixtures in the North region.
Wolves girls will first face Shropshire. Shropshire are also drawn against Peninsula, but avoid facing defending champions Olympia Cannock on this occasion. Cannock play two matches as they start the defence of their title, against NEM Hawks and then Peninsula in the final match of the afternoon.
The South West region opens with Poole Phoenix against Somerset Spartans boys, followed by Phoenix taking on Stroud in the girls match. Stroud girls will be aiming to go one better this year following their agonising one-goal defeat by Olympia Cannock in last year's final.
Two double-headers pit Bideford against Stroud and Bideford against Poole Phoenix in both boys and girls fixtures, and Spartans boys also play Stroud. All matches are at Harewood College in Bournemouth.
South East Group 1 will be held at the University of Essex, Colchester, and opens with Cambridge versus Islington in both genders. Cambridge then play Medway in both girls and boys matches, followed by the Kent club taking on Chelsea boys and Essex girls.
After a break in the middle of the day, Islington then return to take on the Chelsea boys team and Essex girls team to finish the opening round of Under-19 matches.
