Schools competition shows continued growth

The England Handball National Schools competition continues to grow with figures for the 2017-18 season showing more teams than ever entering the tournament.

This year 1475 teams from 605 schools took part in the competition. When it first took place in 2009-10 just 25 teams entered.

The growth is testament to the popularity of handball in schools, and England Handball’s success in developing the sport in the education sector, an identified priority area.

England Handball would like to thank all the partners who have helped make the competition a success, including County Sport Partnerships, School Games Officers and club partners. Thanks also go to the dedicated work of PE teachers, and of course the players and their parents.
