Teams set for promotion play-offs

Play-offs for promotion to Mens’ Super-8, Womens’ Super-8 and the Mens’ Championship South will take place at Leyton Score Centre on Saturday.

Medway Dragons play Peninsula for the prize of a place in womens’ Super-8. Medway enjoyed a great season in the womens’ South East Regional Development League Tier 1, suffering just two defeats in their eight games. Peninsula lost just one match in 10 in the North Regional Development League and racked up an incredible goal difference of 124. Throw-off is at 14.30. The loser of the play-off will have another chance to be promoted in a play-off against the side that finishes bottom of Super-7.

Liverpool and Brighton face each other in a match that will decide which team is promoted to mens’ Super-8. Liverpool represent the Championship North where they won five of their eight matches in a close league where two points separated the top four. Brighton of the Championship South lost just one match all season to top the table by two points ahead of Islington. Throw-off is at 16.30.

Essex Hurricanes play Reading Lions at 12.30 for the right to play in the mens’ Championship South next season. Essex took maximum points in five of their six matches in the mens’ South East Regional Development League Tier 2A. Reading won nine of 14 games in a competitive South-West Regional Development League.
