Trafford Handball club won the boy’s under-14s National Open competition, while Essex Hurricanes were crowned girl’s champions.
The tournament, which took place at the David Ross Sports Village earlier this month, saw eight boy’s teams and seven girl’s teams take part.
Trafford and Essex blazed a trail in their respective competitions, wining every single one of their matches.
Trafford scored an impressive 67 goals. Only second-place Somerset Spartans scored more, although Trafford enjoyed a better goal difference after conceding less. Somerset’s prolific scoring record helped them secure the runners-up spot on goal difference ahead of Nottingham and Guildford Sabres.
Essex beat the keeper 52 times and conceded just 18 goals in a dominant display. Guildford took second spot with a record of five wins from six matches, while Trafford finished third with four victories under their belt.
