Shropshire handball and B73 from Birmingham played each other in the Girls’under-15 North tournament at Telford.
The two teams played 45-minute match split into three 15-minute periods. After the first two periods it was all-square at 16-16.However, Shropshire took the lead in the last 15 minutes to win 28-19.
In the Boys’ North competition, also at Telford, Shropshire Handball, Deva and Liverpool played each other twice. Shropshire finished top after winning their all their four games. Liverpool were second courtesy of two wins against Deva. Deva came away without a win, but pushed Shropshire hard in the two matches against them.
In the second session of matches in the South competition at Sporthouse in Barking Islington finished ahead of Medway Dragons on goal difference in the girls' competition. Both teams won three and lost one, the defeats coming against each other in the two matches they met in. Sussex came away without a victory but noticeably improved as the tournament progressed.
Islington and Ealing were the only teams in action in the boys’ competition following a last minute default. The teams played two 25-minute halves. The first half ended 8-7 to the West London side. Islington run out of steam during the second half and Ealing took the advantage to win the game 23-13.
The next South East tournament is on Sunday 2 April at Sporthouse, Barking, from 11.00.
The next South West tournament in on Saturday 1 April at Bournemouth from 10.00.
